The Park

Overdale Park is a small park created in 2009 from an area of neglected land. The park has a small allotment site situated on one side of the valley with a smaller secondary site at the Chappel street entrance. With a parkland area comprised of a remnant orchard which has been added to since 2020 with new trees and wildflower planting in spring 2024. There is a formal area with benches and a hard standing footpath, which has sympathetic planting using native plants and trees to create an area which is usable for recreation whilst maintaining a place for biodiversity to thrive.

Water Safety Management

We have a Water Safety Policy in collaboration with key partners such as Rospa, the Emergency Services and Local Schools.

This policy helps support the National Water Safety Forum’s ‘UK Drowning Prevention Strategy 2016 – 2026’  to prevent accidental drowning fatalities in the UK by working in partnership to ensure consistent guidance for the safe enjoyment and management of activities in, on and around water.

More details are available here.
