The park

Nestled between homes in Astwood Bank, Overdale Park is a park of two halves.

Its formal half features mown expanses of grass, footpaths and play equipment, and its nature habitat half includes a natural pond with viewing platform.

The whole park is complemented by a remnant orchard and a variety of trees, shrub beds and mature hedgerows – all in an open environment with great visibility.

It’s one part of Redditch’s over 750 hectares of freely accessible parks, open spaces, allotments, nature reserves, woodlands and landscaped amenity areas - that’s over 1850 acres, or more than a thousand football pitches!

Water Safety Management

We have a Water Safety Policy in collaboration with key partners such as Rospa, the Emergency Services and Local Schools.

This policy helps support the National Water Safety Forum’s ‘UK Drowning Prevention Strategy 2016 – 2026’  to prevent accidental drowning fatalities in the UK by working in partnership to ensure consistent guidance for the safe enjoyment and management of activities in, on and around water.

Astwood Bank in Bloom

Astwood Bank in Bloom are a socially active group that do so much more than plant up troughs around the village!

Throughout the year they carry out many outdoor projects including some volunteer days at Overdale Park helping with benches and improving biodiversity in the park and the surrounding area.

Redditch Citizen Science

Help us discover and record the plants and wildlife living in your local parks. From the largest trees to the smallest insects, join us in a project to monitor local biodiversity

Location and parking

Car Park location (2.1m Height Barrier) for both Parks is off Sambourne lane, Astwood Bank, Redditch, B96 6EP, 5 min walk to Overdale Park along Feckenham Road.

As a local community park, it does not have its own car park.
