Planning Appeals
Hither Green Lane Appeal: A planning appeal has been submitted by Barratt David Wilson Homes (Mercia) regarding land west of Hither Green Lane, Redditch. The planning reference is 21/01830/FUL and the related appeal reference is APP/Q1825/W/24/3350905.
The appeal is being determined by a Public Inquiry which opens at 10.00am on Tuesday 21 January 2025 and will last approximately four days. The appeal will open at 9:30am on Wednesday 22 January 2025 and the subsequent sitting days. The appeal proceedings are taking place in person and will be held at the Woodrow Meeting Rooms, Woodrow Centre, Studley Road, Redditch, B98 7RY.
A fifth and sixth day have been reserved for Tuesday 28 January 2025 and Wednesday 29 January 2025. If required, these days will also be held in person at the above venue. Please note that the sitting days are at the Inspector's discretion and may be changed once the Inquiry has opened.
The planning application attracted significant public interest and the Borough Council has therefore sought to provide an appeal venue that reasonably reflects the likely interest in the case. Interested parties have been notified directly about arrangements for registering their attendance, and subject to the Inspector's discretion, to the giving of their views. To support the proceedings further, the Public Inquiry will be live-streamed via the Council’s YouTube channel. Interested parties are reminded this provides an opportunity to observe the Public Inquiry, in full, without physically attending the venue.
A dedicated webpage on the Borough Council website has been created that provides information relating to the planning application and the lodged appeal. This page includes the link to the live-stream facility. The link to the dedicated webpage is here: https://www.redditchbc.gov.uk/publicinquiry/. This page will be taken down at 9:00am on Thursday 30 January 2025.
