Usually rent is charged for 52 weeks of the year but this year there is 53 weeks. Guidance to help you understand what this extra week of rent means for you is available here.

Ways to pay

Remember to always put your rent account number on any rent payment you make. This will ensure your payment goes on your rent account. Avoid complications by ensuring you have put your rent account number as a reference on any rent payment you make.

Standing Order

Make standing order payments using Sort Code 30-96-97 and Account Number 00369020, with a Reference that is your rent account number.

Moving to Universal Credit (UC)

If you have received a Migration Notice Letter from the Department of Work and Pensions, this means one or more of your benefits will be ending soon and you must claim Universal Credit by the deadline date on your letter to continue getting financial support.

Information and guidance on how to prepare for and claim UC is available from our Universal Credit guidance pages.

If you have recently migrated over to Universal Credit, please remember that you will need to ensure that your weekly rent is paid from this benefit.

If you receive an advanced payment from UC whilst the transition to UC is happening, please contact the Housing Revenue team immediately to discuss how you will pay your rent from this benefit.

Non Collection weeks

For tenants not in rent arrears there are 4 non collection weeks as normal, however those who owe rent arrears must continue to pay in the non collection weeks.

The four non collection weeks for 2024/25 are:

  • Week beginning 26th August 2024
  • Week beginning 23rd December 2024
  • Week beginning 24th March 2025
  • Week beginning 31st March 2025

If you pay by direct debit, then your monthly rent has already calculated these 4 non collection weeks in with your monthly amount, and you do not need to do anything.
