Leaseholder confirmation agreement for Redditch Borough Council to replace the front door, door frame and any utility / meter cupboard doors (if applicable) to the property with a fire rated door and door frame and to be re-charged for the cost of the works upon completion.
Opt-In (Front door, door frame / Utility/Meter cupboard) – I have decided to ACCEPT your offer to replace my front door, door frame and any utility / meter cupboard doors as applicable and understand that I will be invoiced once the work has been completed.
I understand that if the lease assigns the responsibility of the front door to me as the leaseholder this will continue to be the case after the door has been installed and any future maintenance and repair outside of the warranty will be my responsibility. I understand that by accepting I have committed myself to these works and understand that I will incur costs if I decline at a future date.
The charge will be made after the work has been completed.
The charge will be a separate charge to the service charges you receive as the Fire Door is not an item covered under services charges as the door is your responsibility under the terms of your lease.
If you choose to ‘Opt-in the cost for fitting the door and frame will be up to £1,586.00 + VAT from April 2026
Once an invoice has been sent to you, you can contact our income team to discuss spreading the cost if needed.
There will be further charges for Major Works* for the rest of the Fire Safety work we need to do, however, the maximum amount for the Fire Stoppage works that the Council can charge leaseholders is £250 including VAT as we have not carried out a Section 20 Consultation on this project.
