Who are offered properties
Every applicant on our housing register is given a priority band award based on individual housing circumstances. Bandings affect how you are either shortlisted for an advertised property through our choice based letting scheme (CBL) or if in Band 1, direct matched to the next available one.
Waiting times vary considerably depending on:
- Your priority band
- The date of the band award
- How many bedrooms you need.
When placing a bid, you will see where you appear in the short list, it may not be your final position as other bids may be made after yours and before the bidding cycle ends but is a guide for how long you may be waiting to the rehoused.
Those in Band 1, will have a shorter wait time.
2 bedroom family sized accommodation is in very high demand regardless of banding so there is a considerable wait time.
Anyone looking to move to a four bedroom property could be waiting more than year, depending on their priority banding, as such few properties of this size become available for letting.
