The Mayor of Redditch
Cllr. Susan Eacock
I was born in Worcester but have spent most of my life in Redditch - a town I truly love and have called home for over 50 years. It is where my late husband and I raised our children, and where the strength of community spirit has always been at the heart of daily life.
Redditch is a town built on kindness - neighbours supporting one another, volunteers stepping forward, and community groups generously giving their time and energy.
Last year, I was honoured to be elected as County Councillor for Redditch South, the area where I have lived for more than 45 years. In May of this year, I was also elected as a Redditch Borough Councillor for Oakenshaw/ Headless Cross, and it is a privilege to serve all these communities. To then be chosen as Mayor of Redditch is an honour I will treat with great respect, and I am committed to doing everything I can to fulfil that role with dedication and pride.
During my year as Mayor, I want to harness that incredible community spirit, working closely with our charities and their fantastic volunteers. Alongside my mayoral duties, I will continue my council work: improving our neighbourhoods, supporting local families, championing our green spaces, and ensuring every resident feels heard, valued, and supported.
Whether it is tackling long-standing issues, supporting local businesses, or celebrating the people who make this town shine, I will be a Mayor, a Councillor - who listens, who acts, and who never forgets why I am here: to serve the wonderful people of Redditch.
