Walking Cricket

Our Walking Cricket session has now stopped for the winter, but we are planning to restart in the Spring 2024.

Worcestershire Cricket Club (WCC), working with Redditch Borough Council and Worcestershire Association of Carers, are starting a NEW  Walking Cricket session to Redditch.

Session details:

RESTARTING IN SPRING 2024

  • Mondays 
  • 6pm to 7pm
  • Terry Memorial Fields (on Former Bridely Moor High School Field)

Assess to AstroTurf cricket pitch, via Sallie Swan Street (off Bromsgrove Road) past Redditch United Football Club.

Walking Cricket is a slower version of the game we all love, it has many physical, social and mental benefits.  The programme benefits people in many ways including staying active and meeting new people.

The benefits include:

  • improves heart health, including reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure
  • improves flexibility and range of movement, keeping you mobile and reducing the risk of injury
  • improves strength and endurance, keeping you active and independent living
  • boosts mental health and well-being, playing with others can help boost your mood as it relieves stress and anxiety
  • improves hand to eye co-ordination (motor skills)
