Appointment safety list
We have a legal duty of care to our staff and contractors under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
This means that for us to be able to work in your property, you must do the following:
Please ensure:
An adult is present
Someone aged 18 or over must be present as a responsible adult during our visit.
Area is clear
Ensure the area that is needed for work is clear of possessions, so the contractors have a clear area to work in.
No smoking or vaping
Passive smoking kills. Please do not smoke or vape in the property for two hours prior to, or during, our visit.
All pets under control
Animals can cause safety hazards. Please ensure there is no pet waste and keep pets safe and contained out of the way.
All sharp items put away
Sharp hazards must be removed. Please ensure anything that may be considered sharp, such as needles, scissors, or knives, are put away.
No illegal drugs
There must be no drug paraphernalia, or evidence of any drug use in the property or by anyone in it.
If these conditions are not met, then you will have caused us to abort your appointment. This means the work will not be done this time and you may still be charged for the appointment and the delays this causes may affect you, other tenants, project timescales, and the council.
Please also note that we must report any observed breaches of your Tenancy Agreement to your Tenancy Officer.
If you need to discuss any of these issues in advance, please contact us before your appointment.
