This council will soon no longer exist

Yes, you read that right. We’re being replaced by a new kind of council structure called a unitary - which will be responsible for everything.

The big question for Worcestershire is: should there be one unitary council for the whole county? Or two councils, splitting North and South?

The final decision on that will be made by the Government, and residents were surveyed for their views during June.

There are still many unknowns, including how services, like our council housing, will run. Options around these questions will be explored in the near future, and we will consult with our tenants and others when that time comes.

For now we, just like you, must wait for more information.
