Town Hall Hub Update
Councillors in Redditch have confirmed refurbishment plans for Redditch Town Hall.
The revised plans for Redditch Borough Council’s town centre community hub were on the agenda at last night’s (Sept 16th) meeting of the full council following an Executive Committee decision to approve the plans.
Leader of Redditch Borough Council, Cllr Joe Baker, said: “With the works now approved, we can get on with creating a much more suitable hub for the community. Preparing parts of the building for new tenants, bringing in a new improved reception as well as general building upgrades. We look forward to getting started on the project and can’t wait for the finished article.”
Works will now be carried out to refurbish Redditch Town Hall creating a fresh community hub.
This includes keeping the borough council offices on the ground, first, third, and fourth floors, as well as the current council chambers on the ground floor.
There will be available space for events and conference hire for organisations, businesses, and communities on the ground floor.
The lower ground and second floors are proposed to be let to commercial end users now that space is no longer required for the library.
The works are scheduled to finish in September next year.
