Redditch Residents To Shape New Towns

Residents of Redditch have to the opportunity to have their say on future ‘New Towns’ at a Public Engagement Event.

The event, carried out by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s ‘New Towns Taskforce’, invites residents to give their views on the success of Redditch as a ‘New Town’.

Leader of Redditch Borough Council, Cllr Sharon Harvey, said: “It is amazing to be a part of something that could really make a difference in shaping ‘new towns’ of the future and I hope as many people as possible take part.”

The Boathouse Café at Arrow Valley Country Park will host the public consultation on June 4th between 5pm-7pm, in the hope residents will drop in on their way home or on their evening walk.

There will be complimentary food and drink for all attendees as well as a digital display of plans and items from the archive of when Redditch was in the planning stages to become a ‘New Town’.

If you definitely plan to attend, please confirm your attendance by emailing newtownstaskforce@communities.gov.uk with the subject line ‘Redditch event’.
