Ambitious Council Plan Unveiled
Redditch Borough Council has launched a bold new Council Plan, marking a fresh start for the town and setting out a clear vision for the years ahead.
The plan reflects the administration’s key priorities since being elected in May 2024, with a strong focus on improving residents’ lives and delivering on manifesto pledges.
Three key priorities have been identified: economy, regeneration & prosperity; green, clean & safe, and community & housing.
Portfolio Holder for Performance, Engagement and Governance, Cllr Jane Spilsbury said: “This plan is a fresh start for Redditch, one that puts our communities at the heart of everything we do. It’s about ambition, pride, and delivering real change for local people.”
Exciting developments are planned for the town centre, including a new Digital Manufacturing Innovation Centre and enhancements to the public realm.
Also, part of the plan, Redditch Town Hall will be transformed into a vibrant, accessible community asset for local people.
Leader of Redditch Borough Council, Cllr Sharon Harvey, said: “The Council Plan is underpinned by commitments to maintaining financial stability, upholding good governance and delivering high quality services to our residents.”
“We are planning for the future, whilst at the same time being mindful of the changes anticipated for local government within the context of the Government’s Devolution agenda.”
The plan will encourage skills, training and job growth, particularly for young people, and attract inward investment to help new and existing businesses thrive.
