Redditch residents are urged to ‘save the date’ as the annual Lights Trail at Arrow Valley Country Park is set to return.

Scheduled for Friday December 1, as well as a sparkling array of lights which will take visitors on a trail through the Country Park’s pathways, there will be a host of entertainment.

This year’s entertainment includes many street acts from, singers, face-painting, fun fair rides, meet and greet Christmas elves with puppets and festive hooping.

Visitors are encouraged to ‘lighten up’ and wear glowing, accessories from flashing crowns to fairy lights.

Redditch Borough Council’s Portfolio-holder for Leisure, Cllr Jo Beecham said: “Over the last two years the lights trail has gone from strength to strength and this year promises to be bigger and better.

“I am always encouraging people to get out and about and enjoy our green spaces which our Borough boasts. But, lit up at night, Arrow Valley Country Park looks extra special and is well worth braving the wintry weather for.”

In the Summer we launched the Reddi-Fox trail which will be a part of the lights event. Before the event which runs from 6pm to 9pm, there’s a chance to enter a Reddi-Fox colouring competition.

Our younger Redditch residents, who are aged 12 years and under, are invited to download a colouring sheet, get arty, and then return it to us by November 30 for a chance to win two tickets for the Palace Theatre pantomime.

Council Leader Matt Dormer said: “It is our priority to provide affordable, fun things for our residents to see and do. I hope we see as many people as possible enjoying this free event.”

The colouring sheet is on our website www.redditchbc.gov.uk/events and can be returned to the Town Hall in Walter Stranz Square or sent to events@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk

The winner will be announced on our social media which you need to follow as more details about the lights trail are revealed!
