Congratulations go to all the successful bidders in the latest round of funding from Redditch Borough Council’s Main Grants Pot.
The Main Grants Pot allows groups to bid for £500 up to £7.5K, to help with core costs and salaries or to support them to deliver great community events, projects, and activities.
A further £5K was also specifically ringfenced to create a separate 'Mental Health' funding pot. From this pot, VCS groups were also able to bid for between £500 and £5,000 to help them deliver specific projects to support those Redditch residents who have suffered from or have worsened mental health and wellbeing issues as a direct result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The second round of funding ended in October this year and successful bids included:
Main Grants Pot:

  • Carers Careline - £7,500 (Core costs)
  • BENS Youth & Community Groups - £6,750 (BENS Groups)
  • Old Needlework Foundation - £5,640 (Media and marketing project)
  • Relate Worcestershire - £3,000 (Counselling services)
  • Redditch Wheels Project - £5,500 (Skatepark Transformation)

Mental Health Pot:

  • Disability Support Project - £5,000 (DSP Mental Health Project)

Cllr Matt Dormer, Leader of Redditch Borough Council, said: “Congratulations to all of the groups who successfully bid in this round. I have no doubt your work will have a lasting impact for many residents, particularly the mental health project, after a difficult eighteen months.
“As a council we are committed to supporting voluntary community sector organisations to deliver projects and activities that have a positive and beneficial impact on Redditch communities.”
