New signs, urging people to keep a safe distance are replacing the 2m signs in the town centre and hand sanitiser stations remain in place.

The Council is also urging people to stay safe in light of new legislation, currently going through Government, which could see more tables and chairs from cafes and bars being put onto the streets once permission is granted from the local authority. This is being managed by Worcestershire Regulatory Services.

Council Leader Matt Dormer said: “It has been a seemingly long lockdown but now the restrictions have been lifted somewhat and pubs and restaurants are set to re-open, like our shops, we still need to stay safe.

I have always been an advocate for shopping local and now more than ever our independents need our support. But we don’t want a spike which would mean our shops and bars having to close again, so please wash your hands, use our sanitiser stations, keep an appropriate distance from others and if you have coronavirus symptoms, stay at home!”
