There’s just a few days left for rising stars from Redditch, Worcestershire and beyond have the chance to become the next drumming legend by entering a brand new competition.

Redditch based organisation, The Palace Drum Clinic, which runs monthly events with internationally renowned artists, are encouraging young, enthusiastic drummers to enter their brand new competition to find young talent.

The PDC Young Drummer Competition is open to anyone aged 11 to 16 years old or 17 to 21 years old with three prizes up for grabs; one for each age group as well as an overall winner.

Anyone interested in taking part should apply via an online application form until 1st July. Auditions will then be held at the Palace Theatre over the weekend of the 7th and 8th September.

Shortlisted drummers will go on to compete at the final on 21st September before a champion – or three – will be crowned.

Matt Green, founder of the Palace Drum Clinic, said: “If you have a passion for drumming we want to hear from you. We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic people with obvious talent – so whilst skill is important, it’s all about playing the music.

“We are sad that the final will no longer be presented at the John Bonham A Celebration II event due to it being postponed, but this is still a fantastic opportunity for talented youngsters to get involved with. I can’t wait to see what young talent we might unearth.”

To apply or find out more, go to www.palacedrumclinic.com. There will be a £10 administration fee for anyone invited to audition.

The competition is being supported by Redditch Borough Council, UK National Drum Fair and Rubicon Leisure.
