Fire safety checks

The key statutory requirement is the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) which requires Redditch Borough Council (RBC) to undertake regular assessments of all communal areas within the Council’s housing stock, by a competent person.

This assessment of a building is to ensure that it is at least maintained, as designed, to protect the integrity of fire safety features such as compartmentation and escape routes.
