Redditch Positivity Rocks

On 13 April 2020, a few weeks after the first UK national lockdown began, local young person Lauren Mernagh decided she was going to do something creative to lift people’s spirits. Having seen the great reaction the painted rocks she had been leaving in her street were getting from neighbours and passers-by, Lauren wanted to do something bigger.

She certainly succeeded – with the Redditch Positivity Rock Line which she started in Arrow Valley Park attracting thousands of contributions from local people.

A new public artwork featuring some of the rocks has now been installed in Arrow Valley Park to commemorate this wonderful community project.

In the video Lauren tells the story of how we got to this point – and we thank her, her mum Dawn and Sharon Avery for all their creativity, generosity and community spirit.
