A lucky resident could scoop up to £25,000 as the Redditch Community Lottery’s inaugural draw is set to take place.

On Saturday January 18 the first draw will be made – but there’s still time to buy a ticket and support local good causes too.

Tickets cost a pound which gives you a one in 50 chance of winning a prize and which sees 50% of the sale going straight to participating local charities and voluntary organisations.

A further 10% will go to the Council’s community pot.

Portfolio-Holder for Leisure, which covers the lottery, Cllr Mike Rouse, said: “As a Council we are committed to helping the VCS and currently provide more support than our neighbouring authorities.

“The Community Lottery not only bolsters this support but gives our residents the chance to win a cash prize too. It’s win/win!”

There’s also still the opportunity to register a good cause and be in the hat to benefit from ticket sales.

Council Leader Matt Dormer said: “We have seen 16 good causes already sign up to the scheme and we would like to see a lot more take part too.

“Good luck Redditch!”

The draw will take place at 8pm on Jan 18th. Click on   for the results or follow the Council’s social media.
