Social distancing signs and directions depicting safer routes are set to be put in place by Redditch Borough Council as more shops are set to open on Monday.

The Council is implementing its action plan over the weekend which includes risk assessments and communications with traders, in a bid to keep shoppers and traders as safe as possible.

Visitors to the town are being urged to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and to wash or sanitise their hands, all in line with Government advice.

Council Leader Matt Dormer said: “This is great news for our traders and small businesses – I have always been an advocate of shopping local and our independent shops now need our support more than ever.

“While we have put signs in place and carried out risk assessments, the onus is on people to ensure the 2m distance is kept, and that personal hygiene is maintained.

“So please bear this in mind and keep each other safe!”
