Residents are set to have their say on the next steps to regenerate Redditch.

An online survey has been launched to get residents’ views on their priorities for unlocking Redditch to further develop the Town Investment Plan.

The Council has already outlined four regeneration quarters: Station and Residential, Education and Enterprise, Retail and Leisure and Public Sector and Cultural with the Church and ‘old town’ anchoring these, creating open spaces and clear routes.

In the survey, online focus groups and phone calls, feedback on these and other areas including skills, enterprise, transport, planning and land use as well as digital, including Broadband, will be covered.

The consultation comes after the Council secured £1m of Government cash to develop the Plan as part of its eligibility for the Government’s ‘Town Fund’ along with 101 other areas across the country.

Redditch Borough Council Leader Matt Dormer said: “This £1m will help us to take the first steps to realise our ambitious plans to unlock Redditch.

“Undoubtedly we will focus on the quarters identified in our Plan and work with the Town Deal Board to identify what actions we can take to meet our objectives which include providing jobs, homes and skills and take actions to reduce our carbon emissions, benefitting residents across the whole town.

“So, of course we need to get our residents involved and find out what is important to them as we develop the strategy to enable our town to reach its full potential.”

While Covid-19 restrictions mean that drop-in sessions are not possible, consultation will be carried out via the Council’s website, social media, telephone calls and online focus groups. Monitor our social media feed or check the local media for more information coming soon.
