R19024 Residents Sought To Share Experiences Of Service

Residents are being invited to apply to take part in a project that could help shape Redditch Borough Council’s Council Tax and Benefits services.

The council is inviting applicants to have an up to one hour interview about their experiences with those services in the last 12 months, conducted by a specialist research company, in return for a £60 amazon voucher.

Cllr Tom Baker-Price, Redditch Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Corporate Management, said: “We want to improve and develop what we do and we would greatly appreciate the chance to speak individually to people about their experience with our Council Tax and Benefits services.”

The interviews will be at the Town Hall on March 24 and 25 between 10am and 4.30pm. To apply to take part people will just need to be resident in the borough and have interacted with the services in the last 12 months. Applications can be made until 12 noon on Wednesday March 20, and the link to do so can be found at https://www.redditchbc.gov.uk/consultations.

It’s a part of an ongoing project announced in December that sees a partnership of 14 councils, including Redditch Borough Council, exploring whether and how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and chatbots could help deliver local services, backed by £80,000 of Government funding.

Cllr Baker-Price added: “We are part of a wider project where over a dozen councils are working together to see if - and how - local services could harness the power of developing technologies like artificial intelligence to improve services right across the country. Talking to people about their real experiences of the services is key to that, and I’m pleased to have Redditch voices feeding into the project.”
