The Councils next round of free computer courses for beginners has been launched – in time for Get Online Week.

Spaces are available on the eight week course and budding Bill Gates can choose to start on Tuesday October 8 or Wednesday October 9.

Redditch Borough Councillor David Thain, whose is Executive Board Member for Customer Access and Financial Services, said; “As a council we want to make our services as accessible to as many people as possible and digital transformation is high on our agenda.

“By arming our residents with the skills to go online, they can not only access our services, but do their day to day business more efficiently and open opportunities for employment where basic computer knowledge is key.”

Excel, word and publisher are just some of the programmes which the learners can pick up top tips on.

Council Leader Matt Dormer said: “As well as giving people new skills the training is great fun and a chance to meet new people so helps us, as a council towards combating social isolation.”

Get Online week starts on Monday October 14.
