Redditch Crematorium in Worcestershire

Coronavirus updates: To help prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and ensure continuity of critical services the crematorium is closed to the public except for funerals or burials, and customer service is by telephone only.

Up to 30 people can attend funerals. We are providing webcasting to live stream funeral services free of charge. Please contact us about webcasting. Please consider the risk to yourself and your family of attending a funeral in person. Thank you for your understanding at this difficult time. Here are full details on how we have changed our practices for burials and cremations.

Here are all the council's Coronavirus updates.

Welcome to Redditch Crematorium in the magnificent Worcestershire countryside. Uniquely amongst Worcestershire crematoria, our hilltop location in informal gardens next to the site of historic Bordesley Abbey has outstanding views of Redditch and the county. Press here for a Google map of the location.

Our chapel normally has a capacity of 160 inside for services, with up to 80 seated and up to 80 standing, plus an audio feed and screens into the lobby and waiting room for when a funeral is very well attended. Visual tributes including photo and video, music, and private webcasts and recordings of services can all be provided on request.

The crematorium is a fully accessible venue with ample car parking, toilets and a hearing loop system.

Opening hours

The crematorium is currently required to be closed except for funerals and burials. Cemeteries and outdoor memorials are open.

Festive season opening hours

Please bear in mind this Christmas that access to the crematorium, including the Flower Room and Book of Remembrance inside it, is not possible except for funerals or burials. We are very sorry for any inconvenience. We have added a new, additional memorial space outside the crematorium.

This year we will be closed altogether on December 24 and then until we reopen again on December 29.

The Book of Remembrance

The Book of Remembrance is opened to that day’s date, showing the inscriptions people have made on that anniversary.

It's displayed in our Flower Room and under normal circumstances visitors can ask to see any day in it. Unfortunately the crematorium including the Flower Room is currently closed to the public except for funerals and burials.

To find out more about having an inscription in the Book of Remembrance, please press here.
