Our Current Statement of Accounts
Redditch Borough Council's financial year runs from April to March and following the end of each financial year it publishes an annual statement of accounts. The accounts are one of the means by which the Council demonstrates its stewardship of public money and they present the financial position of the Council as of 31 March each year. They are produced in the format stipulated by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) in accordance with best accounting practice.
Statement of accounts 2023/24
The Annual Review & Statement of Accounts 2023/24 have not yet been finalised.
The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2024 provide that, for financial year 2023/24, the deadline to publish the financial accounts and statements was 28 February 2025. The Council met with the public inspection period for the unaudited Statement of Accounts 2023/24 of 17 January 2025 but could not meet with the deadline of 28 February 2025 due to a delay in the audit process following the previous auditors resigning.
The Council will publish a final set of accounts as soon as the Statement of Accounts have been signed off.
The audit of accounts has also therefore not yet been concluded.
Statement of accounts 2024/25
The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2024 provide that, for the financial year 2024/25, the deadline to publish the draft financial accounts and statements was 30 June 2025. The Council met with this deadline.
The Council has not met the backstop deadline of 27 February 2026 to publish audited accounts for the period as the Annual Review & Audit of the Statement of Accounts has not yet been finalised. The Council will publish a final set of accounts as soon as the audit is concluded and the Statement of Accounts have been signed off.
Draft Statement of accounts 2025/26
The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2024 provide that, for the financial year 2025/26, the deadline to publish the draft financial statement accounts is 30 June 2026. In line with this, the Council has published a draft Statement of Accounts. The public inspection period is due to conclude on 10 August 2026.
