Worcestershire Health Walks
Arrow Valley Health Walks
Arrow Valley Health Walks have now restarted, at the new time of 10:30 am from Arrow Valley Countryside Centre.
These are a variety of health walks held every Monday and Thursday (excluding some bank holidays) from Arrow Valley Countryside Centre.
Tending to last 30 minutes to 1 hour, our walks have a volunteer as walk leader, another as a middle marker, and another as the back marker to help if anyone has a problem. Many leaders are first aid trained.
Mondays are for all abilities and you choose your own pace. The walks were on made-up surfaces, and when the ground was dry included grassy meadows and a few steps unless we have walkers with pushchairs or wheelchairs – please tell us in advance. The walks take up to an hour and are usually between 2 and 3 miles with shorter routes optional.
Thursdays are longer, brisker and could involve walking on uneven ground and through fields.
New walkers need to phone 01527 534030 for info before going to the walk.
You can lead this walk, or be a middle or back marker. If you want to help volunteer there are training events at regular points throughout the year - please contact our Events team about being a walk leader.
Abbey Track Health Walk
This is a gentle walk around the track, the track is 400m around and there are on site toilet facilities, as well as a cafe where you can stop to rest and have a chat with our friendly volunteers.
We start off from the Abbey Stadium track at 11:00am on Wednesdays.
Please see the Worcestershire Health Walks website for more information.
Webheath Wanderers health walks
These are no longer part of the Walking For Health Scheme. It is now an informal group of walkers, not a led walk, and we provide this information for your reference only.
For more information contact Anne Coombs on 01527 546017. During Coronavirus some members may still turn out, subject to current government guidelines. Walks are every Tuesday at 10.30am from Webheath Village Hall on Heathfield Road (B97 5SQ). They last about an hour mostly on flat surfaces without stiles using a mixture of urban and country paths, with some inclines. The group often visits local pubs afterwards.
Church Hill Buggy Walks
FREE weekly walk with other parents and their children, leaving from St Andrews Methodist Church in Church Hill (parking available at the church).
