More Skills and Capacity Coming to the Cultural Sector
ReNEW have successfully commissioned an arts provider to deliver the Local Cultural Sector Skills and Capacity Development Programme.
Following a thorough tender process, Culture Central have been appointed to work closely with existing cultural sector organisations to enhance resilience, promote growth, and support sustainability.
The commissions forms part of the Shaping Futures strand of the wider ReNEW project, which seeks to strengthen and support the region’s cultural landscape through meaningful development opportunities and collaborative working.
Leader of the Council, Cllr. Matt Dormer, said: “Our cultural sector plays a vital role in shaping vibrant, inclusive, and creative communities. By investing in skills development and professional growth, we are helping practitioners and organisations to build the confidence, knowledge, and capacity they need to thrive. We are pleased to see Culture Central leading this important work and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have.”
As the successful delivery partner, Culture Central will lead the development programme – which will include the delivery of training, learning, and professional development opportunities for practitioners already working in the area.
Through a tailored programme of activity, participants will have access to opportunities which respond to current and emerging needs locally, helping cultural organisations and practitioners adapt, innovate, and thrive in a changing sector.
Chair of the North East Worcestershire Cultural Compact, Petro Nicolaides, said: “We are delighted to be working with Culture Central on this project. Their strong track record makes them ideally placed to deliver a programme that responds to the sector’s needs. This investment represents an important step in strengthening our cultural sector so they can continue to create opportunities and enrich our communities.”
Culture Central brings extensive experience in sector development, leadership programmes, and cultural partnership working. Their appointment reflects a shared commitment to investing in people, strengthening networks, and creating the conditions for a vibrant and sustainable cultural sector across the region.
