Joint Effort Against Joint Pain

The latest series of free ESCAPE-pain rehabilitation sessions for people living with arthritic joint pain will begin next month in Redditch.

ESCAPE-pain is a group rehabilitation programme designed to support people experiencing joint pain, combining guided exercise with practical education and self-management techniques.

The programme helps participants gain a better understanding of their condition, develop effective coping strategies, and take part in a progressive exercise plan aimed at improving confidence, mobility and day-to-day wellbeing.

Starting on September 16th 2026, the programme details are below, and sessions are completely free:

  • 6 Weeks
  • 12 Sessions
  • Wednesdays: 02.30PM - 03:30PM - The Abbey Stadium
  • Fridays: 02:30PM - 03:30PM – The Abbey Stadium

Leader of Redditch Borough Council and Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Cllr Matt Dormer, said: “Living with persistent joint pain can have a significant impact on people’s quality of life, affecting their confidence, mobility and ability to enjoy everyday activities.

“ESCAPE-pain is a well-established programme that gives residents access to practical advice, targeted exercise and professional support to help them manage their condition more effectively.

“I am delighted that we are once again able to offer these free sessions and would encourage anyone experiencing arthritic joint pain to find out more and consider taking part.”
