Improvements Coming to Morton Stanley Park

Residents are being advised that improvement works are set to begin at Morton Stanley Park on Monday (7 September) as part of Redditch Borough Council's ongoing investment in parks and open spaces.

The programme of works will deliver a range of new facilities designed to enhance the park for visitors of all ages, including a new outdoor fitness area, new ball park, new play equipment, and additional picnic benches.

To enable the works to be carried out safely and efficiently, large construction vehicles will be operating within the park and three parking bays will be temporarily used as a contractor works compound.

The improvements form the latest part of the council's commitment to investing in local parks and creating welcoming, high-quality outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy.

Cllr Matt Dormer, Leader of the Council and whose portfolio includes Leisure, said: "Morton Stanley Park is one of Redditch's most popular green spaces and these improvements will provide new opportunities for residents and families to be active, socialise, and enjoy the outdoors. We thank visitors for their patience while the works are carried out and look forward to seeing the new facilities in use.

“This is just the latest step in a sequence of park projects that we aim to deliver over the next 18 months.”

Residents are asked to take extra care when visiting the park during the construction period and to follow any temporary signage that may be in place.

It’s hoped that works could be completed by the end of September, subject to weather conditions.
