My Neighbourhood Survey 2026 Have Your Say

Have Your Say on Your Local Area

We want to hear your views about where you live.

The My Neighbourhood Survey gives residents the opportunity to tell us what matters most in their local area, what we're doing well, and where you think improvements are needed.

Your feedback will help us understand residents' experiences and inform future decisions, priorities and service improvements across Redditch.

The survey is open from 10 August to 21 September 2026 and only takes a few minutes to complete.

Why Should I Take Part?

Your views help us build a clearer picture of life in our communities.

The survey asks about topics including:

  • Your local neighbourhood
  • Cleanliness and environmental issues
  • Waste and recycling services
  • Community safety
  • Council services
  • Quality of life in your area

Every response helps us understand what matters most to local people.

You said, we did

We don't just ask for your views – we use them to help shape services and improvements.

Last year, residents told us what was important to them, and we took action.

We did: We have improved our street cleansing equipment, including buying three mini sweepers and new brushes, to help clear weeds and keep streets and footpaths cleaner. We are prioritising footpaths and areas where weeds make it harder for people to get around. The new equipment also helps us reduce the use of weedkiller.

We did: We have identified fly-tipping hotspots, clear reports as quickly as possible and strengthen enforcement messages. Our target is to clear fly-tips within five days, and we are currently clearing them in an average of three days. This also allows time to check for evidence that could support prosecution.

We did: We have invested in new grass cutting machinery to work more efficiently and increase the number of cuts carried out each year.

We did: During the hedge cutting season, we cut back many hedges and cleared vegetation from footpaths to improve visibility and access. We will also use the new pilot for estate walkabouts to identify local housing and environmental issues more quickly.

We did: We have invested in new collection vehicles to make waste collections more reliable and support our crews to manage your collections more effectively. This will help our crews to return bins safely to where they were collected from and keep footpaths clear; especially where residents have raised accessibility concerns.

We Did: The Neighbourhood Warden worked with the Parks Team to prioritise the removal of the graffiti, reported the incident to West Mercia Police and explored CCTV opportunities. Follow-up visits were carried out to ensure the issue had been resolved and residents confirmed they were happy with the condition of the play

We Did: The Neighbourhood Warden worked with Environmental Services, Housing and the Police to investigate concerns, provide reassurance to residents and increase local patrols. Residents were kept informed throughout, and no further incidents have since been reported.

We Did: Neighbourhood Wardens worked with Environmental Services, Place Teams and landowners to arrange clear-ups, remove waste, install signage and identify longer-term solutions to discourage future incidents. Follow-up patrols continue to monitor affected locations.

We Did: The Neighbourhood Warden coordinated a multi-agency response involving Community Safety, Housing Services and West Mercia Police. Joint action plans were developed, targeted patrols were undertaken and CCTV options were explored to help improve safety and reassure residents.

We Did: Neighbourhood Wardens worked alongside Housing, Social Care, Community Safety and emergency services to provide direct support, carry out welfare checks, coordinate referrals and help residents access the assistance they needed.

We Did: The Neighbourhood Warden Service has increased patrols, engaged directly with residents, developed local reporting guidance and introduced "Sorry We Missed You" cards to reassure residents that concerns are being addressed and neighbourhoods are being monitored.

Frequently asked questions

We want to understand what matters most to people in their neighbourhoods and how experiences and priorities may differ across communities. This helps us make better informed decisions, plan services and identify local issues and opportunities.

Your responses will be combined with those of other residents and used to identify themes, trends and priorities. The findings will help inform future Council plans, policies, services and investment decisions.

Any personal information you provide will be kept secure and handled in line with data protection legislation and the Council's Privacy Notice. We will only use your information for the purposes explained in the survey.

No. Most questions are optional, and you can choose which questions you answer. However, the more information you provide, the more complete our understanding will be of the issues and priorities that matter to local communities.

Access to survey data will be limited to authorised Council officers and any approved partners supporting the survey on the Council's behalf where necessary. All information will be handled securely.

Survey findings will be reported in summary form and we will not identify individual respondents in published reports. Where personal information is collected, it will only be used for the purpose stated in the survey and in line with the Privacy Notice.

This information supports our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and helps ensure services are fair, accessible and inclusive. You can choose not to answer these questions if you prefer.

We will review all responses to understand what residents think about their neighbourhood, including issues such as community safety, cleanliness, anti-social behaviour, and local services. The results will help us identify priorities, target resources where they are most needed, and develop action plans to improve local areas.

The results will also be compared with previous surveys to help identify areas where things have improved and where further action may be required

Yes. We will share a summary of the findings and let residents know what actions we plan to take in response. This may be through our website, newsletters, social media, tenant publications, or local community meetings.
