Redditch Issues and Options Consultation and Call for Sites

The Council is reviewing its Local Plan. The first stage of this was the Issues and Options consultation. The consultation was open from 22nd May – 3rd July 2025 and views were sought on:

  • Vision and key issues for Redditch
  • Possible growth options
  • Housing
  • Employment land
  • Town centre and district centres
  • Infrastructure
  • Natural and historic environments
  • Climate change
  • Design coding

Call for Sites

As part of the Issues and Options consultation, the Council carried out a Call for Sites exercise for developers and landowners to submit potential development sites that they wish to be considered for their availability for housing, employment or other development land uses over the period to 2043 for inclusion in the emerging Local Plan.

Whilst the Issues and Options consultation has closed, we are still accepting Call for Sites submissions. To allow us to make progress with the site assessment process, we will periodically impose informal cut-off points whereby any sites submitted after that date will not be considered until we begin preparation for the following plan-making consultation stage. If you have previously submitted sites as part of the Call for Sites exercise, please DO NOT resubmit them again.

To submit a site, please complete the submission form which can be found here. Please complete one form per site and complete each form as fully as possible. The Local Planning Authority will contact you for more detailed information regarding your site submission if required - please wait to hear from us. Please attach a scaled location map showing the precise boundary of the site, indicating clearly where development could be located. If possible, please provide as a GIS shapefile and any further information such as available masterplans.

Other relevant information that you consider appropriate may be appended as part of the submission including indicative site layouts, masterplans, proposed delivery rates.

All site submissions will be assessed by the Council. Updates will be posted on this webpage.

What happens next?

The Council are currently assessing the representations and site submissions received. In due course a summary of all the representations made to the Council during the consultation, as well as officer responses to these representations, will be published here.

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) outlines the timetable for the preparation of the emerging Local Plan.
