Redditch Borough Council are inviting the voluntary community sector (VCS) and statutory organisations to bid for a share of £20k covid recovery funding.
 
The funding, which has been given to the council by Public Health, is designed to be used to support community recovery from Covid-19 and to mitigate against further impact of the pandemic.
 
Funding will be allocated through a competitive grant application process and VCS groups or statutory organisations such as schools, councils, and NHS organisations, are invited to enter a bid.
 
The funding provides the opportunity for organisations to bid for grants to support a scheme, project, or service they want to deliver which aims to mitigate and alleviate the impact of the pandemic. The criteria for the grant is broad but applications should meet the following requirements:

• Helps to reduces inequality caused by impact of COVID-19;
• Supports vulnerable groups who have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19; and
• Meets a local need within the borough.

Bids up to £10k can be made for Redditch or as a joint scheme across Redditch and Bromsgrove, but organisations are asked to read the guidance notes for application and request an application form by emailing partnership@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk prior to entry.
 
Leader of Redditch Borough Council, Cllr Matt Dormer, said: “The use of this funding could have a big impact on our community and the way our town recovers from the lasting effects of the pandemic. Bids are open to VCS, schools, parish councils, and NHS organisations, so if you have even the smallest of ideas that might help your community post covid, please submit your idea because you could get the funding you need to make it a reality.”
 
The closing date for applications is Thursday 2nd September at 4pm. Applications can be posted to or hand delivered to the Town Hall (Helen Broughton, Floor 3, Redditch Town Hall, Walter Stranz Square, Redditch, B98 8AH) or emailed to partnership@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk
 
Redditch Borough Council, Bromsgrove District Council Bromsgrove and Redditch Network and Worcestershire County Council will review applications as quickly as possible and aim to communicate the outcomes of applications week commencing 13th September 2021.
 
Successful bids will be required to complete a monitoring and evaluation report and return it to the Council once project/scheme delivery has been completed.
