The popular combined event, Green Fair and Lions Fun Day, is back for the first time in over two years to delight residents and visitors once again.

Redditch Borough Council’s annual Green Fair, in partnership with The Redditch Lions Club, returns to the town on the slightly later date of Sunday 5 September and promises to feature free, family-friendly stalls, entertainment and displays for everyone to enjoy.

Throughout the day, there will be a range of traditional funfair activities and demonstrations, including circus skills with Juggling Jim and a Punch and Judy show.

West Mercia Police will be on hand with demonstrations and free bike marking, alongside the 37th Signal Regiment who will be bringing their information stand, radios, and fun games for children.

There will also be a display of fabulous Classic Cars and new Cars (including Electric), Royal Enfield Motorbikes, live music from “Split Second” from Music Academy Midlands, a Ukulele band and a variety of other entertainment, craft stalls and more.

Any visitors who are interested in being greener and reducing their impact on the environment can get information from YES Energy Services and Severn Waste and Recycling who will both be on site to advise residents.

The event takes place on Sunday 5 September from 11am – 4pm at Arrow Valley Countryside Park. There is free parking on site.

Mike Andrews from Redditch Lions said: “It’s been a long time since our last event, but we are proud to be working with the council again to bring some fun and entertainment to our local community after what has been a difficult 18 months for many people. It’s a slightly smaller event than in past years due to the limited time scales post covid restrictions lifting, but it still promises to be an excellent family day out for all ages with lots to do and see. We can’t wait to see you there.”

Portfolio Holder for Leisure Services, Cllr Mike Rouse, said: “We are still finding our feet as a council in the events space and it’s clear there are many challenges ahead in general, but I’m delighted we are working with the Lions to get this one right and provide a safe and welcoming event for everyone.”

Leader of the council, Cllr Matt Dormer, said: “It’s great that we’ve been able to pull together with local partners to bring back one of the town’s favourite events for everyone to enjoy.”
