The Legal Stuff

As a producer of commercial waste, you must ensure that you dispose of your waste safely and legally by using an appropriately authorised company.

All waste producing businesses in the UK are subject to environmental good practice laws known as the duty of care.  You can read a simple guide to your responsibilities on the Right Waste, Right Place website.

Here is a guide to help you with filling out your online Duty of Care contract.

It is a legal requirement that every business completes a “Duty of care waste transfer note”. We issue these notices each year, which allows the Council, as an authorised carrier, to transfer commercial waste and dispose of it.
