Tai Chi

A weekly Tai Chi class designed to improve strength and reduce stress is now running in Oakenshaw.

Tai Chi, a method of mind and body exercise rooted in ancient China, is a gentle form of exercise that focuses on slow controlled movements and deep breathing to improve participants’ strength whilst helping to reduce stress and anxiety.

The new sessions will be taking place at Oakenshaw Community Centre every Thursday at 6pm and will cost £3.30 per 1 hour session. The first session took place on Thursday 8th March.

Hayley Gwilliam, Health Intervention Officer in the Sports Development team at Bromsgrove District Council, said: “These classes are a great way to start your fitness journey as well as providing a boost to body and mind for everyone involved. Suitable for beginners, everyone is welcome to come along and have a go.”
