Live Well Batchley

Due to popular demand, Redditch Borough Council’s Live Well programme will be leaving its traditional gym based setting for the community as a brand new course begins in Batchley.

The 8 week course, which combines dietary and lifestyle advice with exercise opportunities, will now give participants the chance to try a different form of exercise each week with free attendance at local community classes.

As part of the course, participants will have access to 20+ different community exercise classes, where the instructor will explain the differences and benefits of each, trying out everything from Pilates to Strength work with exercise bands or even a Zumba instructor in to show you how to dance yourself fit!

The programme runs every Thursday from 18th October for 8 weeks, 9am to 10.15am at Batchley Community Centre, and costs just £2 per week.
The course is designed to help people who want to improve their wellbeing and overall health. Many participants have used the scheme to help with asthma, obesity, fibromyalgia, depression/anxiety, arthritis, diabetes, lower back pain, stroke, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis and COPD.

Cllr Mike Rouse, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said: “This course offers the same high quality, expert advice you’d expect from any gym based programme. It just has a more relaxed, less intimidating approach to exercise by offering the community classes. It’s scary enough trying to make the change to improve your health, let alone doing it in front of the gym bunnies! So if you want the perfect stepping stone to improve your health in a welcoming environment, sign up today.”
