Parenting and Family Support Peer Support Volunteers
We have opportunities for volunteers to assist the Parenting and Family Support team to help the families of Bromsgrove and Redditch to build strong and secure relationships with their children.
What does the Peer Support Volunteering involve?
Volunteers will assist staff in a variety of training courses that are designed to give parents the skills and support to see them through their parenting journey. We can offer placements supporting the following groups:
- Birth and Beyond
- Triple P
- Understanding your Child
- Talking Teens
- Discussion Groups
What does the Breastfeeding Buddies Volunteering involve?
Our Breast Buddies are on hand to answer questions and offer support to mom's and families on their breastfeeding journey. This support takes place within a breastfeeding group setting. If you live in Redditch or Bromsgrove and are a Mother or Grandmother who has had a positive breastfeeding experience then your knowledge and experience would be perfect to help Mums on their way. Full training and an induction is provided prior to placement.
Why should I volunteer?
There are lots of reasons why people volunteer with us. It is a great opportunity to become involved in your local community, meet new people and be part of a team. This will look great on your CV and also help to build confidence and learn new skills.
What training and support will I get?
It is important that volunteers feel confident in their roles and we will provide ongoing support and training to help you achieve this. Prior to commencement all Peer Supporters and Breast Buddies will complete an induction programme appropriate to their chosen volunteering pathway.
