The Holocaust Memorial Steering Group is the official body in Redditch that organises the annual Holocaust Memorial commemorations in the town. Five elected Councillors currently sit on the Holocaust Memorial Steering Group as well as representatives of local community and religious groups.
The Holocaust Memorial Day is marked internationally on the 27 January every year. This date marks the anniversary of the date of the liberation of the Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. In Redditch the event is commemorated on the Saturday closest to that date.
During the Holocaust Memorial Day participants reflect on the victims of the Holocaust and other genocides which have occurred in countries across the world. Any member of the public living within Redditch Borough is welcome to participate in the event.
Further information about arrangements for the Redditch Holocaust Memorial Event this year should be available on this web page in due course.
