Independent Remuneration Panel
The Independent Remuneration Panel (IRP) is an independent body which makes recommendations to the Council on the level of allowances to be paid to Members of the Council. The Panel is made up of people who are not Councillors. The Council must 'have regard' to the Panel's recommendations when deciding on the level of allowances each year and these recommendations are set out in a report to the Council.
